Description

The main aim of this course is to help pupils acquire concepts comprehensively as well as develop their reasoning skills. All the activities use familiar, easily accessible exercise types to facilitate the learning process for pupils with elementary reading skills. Part 2B includes the following chapters:

Chapter 1
The first chapter introduces addition in columns. The work progresses from one-digit and two-digit addends to three-digit addends to ensure a good command of the algorithm.

Chapter 2
In the second chapter pupils learn to subtract in columns. Exchanging and exchanging in succession will also be introduced.

Chapter 3
The third chapter handles geometry. The chapter progresses from concrete solids to more abstract basic concepts of plane geometry, such as point, segment of a line, line and angle. Pupils are introduced to polygons and learn to classify them.

Chapter 4
The fourth chapter deals with measurements. The decimal notation of money will be studied here. Pupils measure centimetres with a ruler and estimate the lengths of familiar objects. Students learn about grams and kilograms in units of mass, and litres and decilitres in volume. Simple unit conversion exercises are also introduced.

Chapter 5
Chapter five can be used in a variety of ways, as no new topics are introduced. The chapter provides revision exercises, practice in extracting information from texts, pictures and charts, as well as verbal problem-solving tasks. This chapter is also suitable for differentiating practice.
